The first painting I am featuring here on dr wormhole is by one of my favorite painters. I was not familiar with Miro’s work until I saw some of his paintings at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, shortly after I moved here in 2003. His paintings have a playfulness to it that many of his surrealist contemporaries lacked. I love the liveliness of his paintings and it’s no big surprise that such energy is present since many began as automatic drawings.
