The Eames Lounge and Ottoman

Did you know that Charles and Ray Eames, the husband and wife duo responsible for the marvel of ergonomic furniture design shown above, also made films?
You might have seen their most famous, Powers of Ten, in elementary school or on local public access TV when you were younger. It is a short film that explains the concept of exponential growth in an easy way (that also manages to be effortlessly profound) …let me spoil this much: it all “takes place” at a picnic.

I ran across it a few months ago and had that where-do-I-know-this-from? feeling and was enthralled as I watched it again (specifically appreciating the voice over commentary much more than where-/whenever I had seen it previous).  If you’ve never seen it – or have no idea what I’m talking about – check it out:
